Deliverables from a Drone LiDAR 3D Point Cloud

A drone LiDAR survey captures an extremely detailed three-dimensional record of the landscape and features within a project area. The real value, however, comes from turning that point cloud into practical information that engineers, surveyors, environmental consultants, planners and project teams can use with confidence.

Depending on the requirements of the project, LiDAR Drone Australia can produce a range of useful deliverables from the captured 3D point cloud.

  1. Classified Point Clouds
    LiDAR points can be classified into meaningful categories such as ground, low and high vegetation, buildings, structures and other identifiable features. This provides a clean and organised dataset that can be used for further analysis and design.

  2. Digital Terrain Models – DTM / Bare Earth Models
    A representation of the natural ground surface with vegetation, buildings and other above-ground features removed. Particularly valuable for surveying, engineering design, drainage studies and terrain analysis.

  3. Digital Surface Models – DSM
    A detailed surface model that includes the ground together with vegetation, buildings, structures and other features above the terrain.

  4. Canopy Height Models – CHM
