We prioritize cutting-edge technology to ensure precision, reliability, and superior results. Our state-of-the-art LiDAR sensors and advanced drones guarantee the highest data quality, capturing intricate terrain details with unparalleled accuracy. This commitment to premium technology underscores our mission to provide exceptional geospatial solutions, whether for environmental monitoring, infrastructure assessment, or land surveying.
LiDAR Drone Australia's Equipment Used on all LiDAR Mapping and Surveying Projects.
LiDAR Drone Australia has always been committed to pushing the boundaries of LiDAR technology to provide exceptional results for our clients. When we found that the DJI LiDAR systems fell short of our expectations, we look to explore or options and evaluate a wide array of LiDAR systems from around the world. Our aim was clear: to find a LiDAR solution that could not only deliver outstanding performance but also ensure cost-effective LiDAR point cloud data and deliverables for our valued clients. This led us to the remarkable Geosun GS-260X and the Geosun GS-960 professional LiDAR scanners.
The Geosun GS-260X represents a breakthrough in LiDAR technology for small to medium sized projects offering unmatched capabilities. To complement this remarkable LiDAR unit, we've paired it with the tried-and-true DJI M350 drone platform. This powerful combination allows us to capture aerial laser scans with unparalleled precision, setting a new standard in LiDAR data acquisition.
But our dedication to delivering comprehensive LiDAR solutions doesn't stop in the air. For ground-based laser scans, we utilize a specially designed vehicle mounting kit from Geosun, which enables us to mount the GS-260X to any vehicle, facilitating ground-based LiDAR scans with maximum efficiency and accuracy.
The Geosun GS-960 is best suited to our large-scale aerial LiDAR projects, we chose the Geosun GS-960 LiDAR scanner because it delivers unmatched precision, reliability, and efficiency, even over vast or challenging terrain. Its advanced multi-echo and waveform capabilities allow us to capture high-density point clouds and penetrate dense vegetation, producing survey-grade results that meet the highest industry standards. The GS-960’s seamless integration with our UAV platforms enables rapid coverage of expansive areas while maintaining safety, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness. By leveraging this cutting-edge technology, LiDAR Drone Australia ensures every large-scale survey is completed faster, more efficiently, and with the exceptional detail our clients expect.
Our drone LiDAR solutions doesn't end with data capture; it continues with meticulous processing and analysis. To this end, we rely on the full professional software suite developed by Geosun. This software package is tailored to handle LiDAR point cloud data with utmost precision and efficiency. It includes the Professional Geosun Point Cloud Automatica LiDAR classification software, which automates the classification process, ensuring that our clients receive the most detailed and accurate data possible.
In a landscape where many drone operators are entering the field of drone LiDAR surveying using sensors like the Livox LiDAR module as used by DJI and a few others, it's crucial to distinguish between entry-level and high-end units. The Livox module, while suitable for some applications, falls short of the performance and capabilities we demand to meet the stringent requirements of our clients.
With the Geosun GS-260X and GS-960 LiDAR scanners integrated on the DJI M350 drone platform, combined with Geosun’s advanced professional software suite, we have established a cutting-edge LiDAR solution that sets a new benchmark in the industry. This powerful combination underscores our commitment to precision, efficiency, and reliability, enabling LiDAR Drone Australia to consistently deliver exceptional, survey-grade results across projects of any scale.

Our LiDAR Drone Operations
As a commercial drone operation company, we are selective about the products we use for our daily operations. We avoid the cheapest options and equipment chosen solely for simplicity or flashy features. Instead, we prioritize reliability and performance. This is why we have chosen the Geosun GS-260X and GS-960 LiDAR scanners for our drone LiDAR surveying projects. While many drone operators pair their DJI M300 Series drones with the DJI LiDAR units for its simplicity and affordability, we have chosen a different path. It is always better and more cost-effective to obtain accurate results the first time, rather than having to return to the site with the hope of achieving better results.
We are pleased to showcase the capability of our LiDAR system to deliver accurate results even in highly challenging terrain. This scan highlights our LiDAR’s proven ability to perform effectively under demanding conditions. The survey site included dense mangrove vegetation, soft mud flats, steep embankments, as well as both moving and still water. Despite these complexities, our LiDAR system—combined with our advanced data processing software—successfully captured precise ground points throughout this demanding environment.
Good Accurate Ground Points are Essential for Reliable and Quality Deliverables!
Our LiDAR's Capability
The example below demonstrates drone LiDAR at its best, showcasing the the results from a GS-260X point cloud classification within our advanced LiDAR software suites. By moving the slider, it is evident that all ground points have been accurately preserved, while vegetation has been completely removed down to ground level.
In contrast, we frequently encounter poor-quality datasets within the drone LiDAR industry, even in relatively uncomplicated terrain. Common issues include software incorrectly removing genuine ground points in favourable areas, failing to remove vegetation to ground level, or both. Additionally, the quality of the LiDAR unit itself plays a critical role—without precise vegetation penetration, the accuracy of the final results will inevitably be compromised.
