LiDAR Drone Australia completed a combined drone LiDAR and photogrammetry survey across Parklea Markets and surrounding areas in Sydney, NSW, working alongside a well-known Sydney surveying company.
The project area presented a diverse range of site conditions, including large commercial and office buildings, sealed roads, car parks, dense vegetation, bushland, creek corridors and wetland areas. These varying surface types required careful flight planning and the use of both LiDAR and high-resolution aerial imagery to achieve comprehensive site coverage.
Drone LiDAR was particularly valuable in the heavily vegetated and creek areas, where laser returns could capture ground information through gaps in the vegetation. Photogrammetry was used to provide detailed aerial imagery and surface information across buildings, roads and open areas.
The datasets were processed and supplied to support the surveying team with accurate spatial information for their broader project requirements.
